Are you afraid to be Creative? 5 ways to make creativity a more enjoyable experience

The other day I was talking with a friend about the benefits of doing just a little something creative everyday and how effective it has been for me to be more peaceful throughout the day.

"Well, that's great but I am terrified of being creative.  What if I can't think of anything to do?"  she asked.

it got me to thinking that maybe this is something that we need to talk about more.  Many people are truly AFRAID of the creative process.  So I thought perhaps I should first build the case for what one can do if they battle with this feeling.

The following list talks about 5 ways to help someone who is afraid to be creative

Encourage them to start small: Encourage the person to start with small and simple creative tasks, such as doodling or coloring, to build confidence and feel comfortable with the creative process.

Be supportive: Let them know that you believe in their creative abilities and are there to support them throughout the process.

Provide inspiration: Share examples of creative work that inspires you and encourage them to explore different mediums and techniques.

Create a safe space: Create a safe and non-judgmental environment where the person feels comfortable expressing their creativity without fear of criticism or failure.

Help them overcome their fears: Help the person identify their fears and work with them to overcome these obstacles.

I have written some books and ebooks that help with establishing a creative practice - CLICK ON THE LINK for the opportunities to begin.

What Does Being Hopeful Mean?

Being hopeful means having a positive outlook and expectation that things will get better in the future. It involves believing in the possibility of positive outcomes, even in difficult or uncertain situations. Hope can provide a sense of motivation and optimism, helping people to persevere in the face of challenges and work towards their goals.

Hopeful people often have a sense of purpose and direction, and they actively seek out opportunities to create positive change in their lives and in the world around them. They may also have a strong sense of resilience, bouncing back from setbacks and using their experiences to learn and grow.

Being hopeful does not mean ignoring or denying the challenges or difficulties in life, but rather acknowledging them while maintaining a positive attitude and belief in the possibility of a better future. Ultimately, being hopeful can bring a sense of joy and meaning to life, and can help people stay motivated and focused on achieving their goals.

  2. Listen more: When you're in a conversation, try to focus on listening instead of talking. This can help you become more comfortable with silence and develop stronger listening skills.

  3. Take breaks from social media: Social media can be a major source of noise and distraction. Taking breaks from social media can help you become more comfortable with silence and reduce your urge to constantly check your phone.

  4. Spend time alone: Spending time alone can help you become more comfortable with silence and develop a stronger sense of self-awareness.

  5. Practice meditation: Meditation can help you become more comfortable with silence and develop greater inner peace and calmness.

  6. Learn to enjoy quiet activities: Engaging in quiet activities such as reading, writing, or taking a walk in nature can help you become more comfortable with silence and enjoy the peacefulness it can bring.

Remember, being quiet doesn't mean you have to be silent all the time. It's about finding a balance between speaking up when necessary and embracing moments of silence and reflection.

Can Yoga Help With Breathing?

yoga can be very helpful in improving breathing techniques and reducing stress through various breathing exercises called Pranayama. These breathing exercises are an integral part of yoga practice, and they are designed to improve the function of the respiratory system and enhance the overall well-being of the body.

Yoga postures, also known as asanas, can also help improve lung capacity and increase oxygen intake. Asanas such as the Cobra pose, the Fish pose, and the Bridge pose can help open up the chest and lungs, allowing for deeper, more efficient breathing.

Yoga also emphasizes the connection between the body, breath, and mind. Practicing yoga regularly can help calm the mind and reduce stress, which in turn can improve breathing patterns and lung function.

Overall, yoga can be an effective tool for improving breathing and reducing stress, and it is a great option for anyone looking for a natural and holistic approach to improving their health and well-being.

steps for beginners to relieve stress by breathing

Here are some steps for beginners to relieve stress by breathing:

  1. Find a comfortable position: Sit or lie down in a comfortable position where you can relax and breathe comfortably.

  2. Focus on your breath: Start by taking a deep breath in through your nose, and then exhale through your mouth. As you exhale, try to release any tension in your body.

  3. Slow and steady breathing: Take a slow, steady breath in through your nose, counting to four as you do so. Hold your breath for a few seconds, and then slowly exhale through your mouth, counting to four again.

  4. Repeat the process: Continue to breathe in this slow, rhythmic pattern for a few minutes, or until you feel more relaxed and less stressed.

  5. Visualize: To help you focus and relax even more, you may want to visualize a peaceful scene, such as a beach or a meadow. Picture yourself in this scene, and try to feel the peacefulness and calmness of the surroundings.

Remember, breathing exercises are just one of many techniques that can help reduce stress. You may also want to try other relaxation techniques such as meditation, yoga, or progressive muscle relaxation to find what works best for you.

How to Breath Better

Breathing is an automatic process that we do all the time, but there are ways to improve the way you breathe to help you feel better and improve your overall health. Here are some tips for breathing better:

  1. Practice deep breathing: Take slow, deep breaths from your diaphragm, filling your lungs with air and exhaling slowly. This can help reduce stress and anxiety, as well as increase oxygen levels in your body.

  2. Improve your posture: Sit up straight and relax your shoulders. This allows for better lung expansion and easier breathing.

  3. Exercise regularly: Regular exercise can improve lung capacity and help you breathe more efficiently.

  4. Avoid smoking: Smoking can damage your lungs and make it harder to breathe.

  5. Use a humidifier: If the air in your home is dry, using a humidifier can help moisten the air and make it easier to breathe.

  6. Practice meditation or mindfulness: These practices can help reduce stress and improve your breathing patterns.

Remember, breathing is a natural process, but by making some small changes, you can improve the way you breathe and feel better overall. If you have concerns about your breathing, it's always a good idea to talk to your doctor.

My Class Are Now on Sale at Udemy

 Hi there,

I hope you are feeling connected in your life.  Can you believe that we are nearing the quarter mark of 2023?  It is always a nice time to check in and notice how this year is progressing.  I truly hope you have been experiencing peace, even in those spaces where you might be experiencing change and growth.

This is something I make sure to tend to in my life.  In 2023, I began to commit to practicing yoga 10 minutes every morning. I used to think there really couldn't  be any benefit to just 10 minutes a day on the mat.  I think perhaps it is more about the agreement I make with myself and choosing to be fully being present for those ten minutes.  It's a very energetic shift but I can't deny that I am reaping the benefits.

As you know, many of my programs have creativity and meditation as the center.  I wanted to share the sale that I am currently running and hope you find something that resonates with you to enroll in.
